ECDC report highlights importance in investing in HIV prevention This week the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) has published a report highlighting how countries have been addressing the HIV challenge. The report emphasises how the need to ensure appropriate treatment and value for money can come from investment in HIV prevention saying that it makes “sound economic sense” and that “earlier diagnosis of HIV ensures a better treatment outcome for the patient and helps to prevent further transmission of the disease: only those who know about their HIV infection can actively prevent onward transmission (Published by Halve It campaign on 29/05/2013)
